Postponed – Yoga Meets the Alef Bet

When

December 8, 2024
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

We regret that this event has been postponed, new date TBA.

Join Janeanne Tager as she leads us through a yoga class concentrating on the
Hebrew alphabet. This class is geared toward adults and is suitable for beginners, so if
you don’t know much about yoga or if you have not done any in a long time, this will be
a perfect opportunity for you. Janeanne can accommodate all levels of abilities.
Janeanne’s inspiration for this class comes from the book Alpha Bet Yoga” written by
Steven Rapp. Here are some excerpts from the book that she has found particularly
relevant: “In Jewish practice, we are talking about kavannah, or the ability to aim one’s
mind – and body- at a target. The discipline of physical and mental self- control is
invaluable, whatever one’s spiritual inclinations. Practiced within forms of Hebrew
letters, it will take on new meaning… The focus on Hebrew letters helps strengthen our
connection to our ancient tongue, or interest in the language itself, and eventually our
desire to learn more deeply the words of our ancestors.”

Please register HERE for this class.  There is no charge for CBI members and a $10 cost for general community members.
