Committee Mission and Vision Statement
The Adult Education Committee at Congregation Beth Israel believes that Jewish
learning lies at the heart of Jewish survival and that a core role of any synagogue is to
facilitate, support and promote Jewish learning.
Jewish learning has the power to:
- Deepen the meaning of our traditions, observances, actions, activities and
encounters.
- Connect us to each other, k’lal Yisrael, and our Jewish heritage.
- Help us build a more just and compassionate world based on Jewish values
- Enable us to transmit our Jewish inheritance to the next generation.
Whether in the synagogue, out in the community, at CBI, within our homes or online,
adult Jewish learning strives to be flexible, member-driven, content-rich and diverse
through offerings that include:
- Traditional classes and creative experiences
- Planned events and random encounters
- Group discussions, one-on-one learning, and individual study
The more we learn, the more we are enriched and connected. The moment we stop
asking questions, we stop thriving Jewishly—as individuals and as a people.
