Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) is a solemn, modern Israeli and Jewish holiday and national memorial day observed annually on the 27th of Nisan (April/May) to honor the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis. It is not a day of celebration, but a day of commemoration, featuring sirens, ceremonies, and school activities.
This community event, hosted this year by CBI, in conjunction with the Center for Jewish Studies, UNC Asheville.
