The history of humans in the land of Israel goes back well over 1 million years. Perhaps no land in the world has been the focal point of sanctity and spiritual meaning, as well as religious, political, and military conflict. Looking at four distinct narrative timelines, we will explore the history of the land which both Israelis and Palestinians call home, with the intention to better understand what makes the contemporary state of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict so complicated. Bringing over 20 years of historical and archaeological study, Justin will contextualize major historic events in Europe and the Middle East over many centuries which were a direct influence on the current state of affairs.
