Title – “Being – Until Our Last Breath”
Presenter – Al Quiery
We are on a journey, a journey that is both physical and spiritual.  People enter
and leave our lives, we will encounter hardship, and hopefully we will also
experience moments of awe and great joy. Unlike Abraham and Moses, we may
not benefit from direct Divine guidance, but our experience in any moment has
always been informed by our heritage, faith, past choices, and external events.
The journey becomes our biography, a narrative only partially written by us; often
with large tracts related to our life's work and our interactions with others.  Aging
and illness can derail our story, causing us to veer from the course we had
planned.  Like Abraham and Moses, however, we are capable of self-growth, we
have the agency to change, a fundamental Jewish principle. This session will
explore how our stories can continue to evolve, even in the face of advancing
age, illness, and disability. The storyline continues until we take our final breath;
we have purpose and our work here is not yet complete.
