Sisterhood

The Mission of Beth Israel Sisterhood is to continue and promote the tradition of Conservative Judaism within the greater Beth Israel community.

We are multi-generational, a place for women to establish new friendships as we seek to promote awareness of Jewish values, traditions and education that enable us to enrich our lives and those of our families. We work together to support our Synagogue, the community and each other, strive to develop leadership and encourage the performance of mitzvot within our congregation and the community at large. Sisterhood is an essential arm of our Synagogue offering social and educational activities for our members, and providing financial support to various Synagogue programs and activities.

Sisterhood Torah Fund

Sisterhood's Torah Fund Campaign is in full swing. This year's theme is "Lev v'Nefesh - Heart and Soul." This is an apt metaphor for the dual aspects - physical and spiritual - that compose the whole self. When the Shema instructs us daily to love G-d with all our heart and all our soul, it means the entirety of our being.

Your generosity to the Torah Fund Campaign helps to support the Jewish Theoligical Seminary, Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, Schechter Institute of Jewish Studies in Jerusalem, and Seminario Rabinico Latinoamericano, Buenos Aires. Contributions to Torah Fund, support scholarships for rabbis, cantors scholars, teachers and educated laity needed for the Conservative Movement.

There are many levels of giving from your Heart and Soul for Torah Fund, including a contribution that has the added benefit of your receiving this year's beautiful pin. To contribute to this campaign, or for more details, contact mgellick@gmail.com.
